OVERVIEW:

Gaumukh is one of the essential headstreams of the Sacred Ganges Stream which is arranged at a tallness of 12,795 ft. in Uttarkashi Locale in the territory of Uttrakhand. Gaumukh is 18 km from Gangotri Sanctuary in the lower regions of Bhagirathi. It is the nose of the Gangotri Icy mass. The Bhagirathi Stream here is really rapid. Around the nose, nature presents a wild geology. There are numerous stones dissipated to a great extent for certain bits of broken snow, alongside the hard clayey snow of the ice sheet. Little before Gaumukh, the superb perspective on Mt. Shivling invites the adventurers. The trip to Tapovan, Nandanvan, Vasuki Tal, and so forth begins from here. Tapovan, a region brimming with knolls, streams and blossoming plants and the glades are considered as extraordinary compared to other high elevation glades in India. Tapovan is the headquarters for a few mountaineering undertakings including Shivling top, Bhagirathi top, and so forth

Best an ideal opportunity to visit: May-June and September-October. Anticipate climbing on the snow toward the start of May. September and October is a wonderful opportunity to travel here. After October, it is by and large not fitting to travel alone because of the limit cold. After November, anticipate weighty snow nearby.

Entrancing Culmination Perspectives:

The Gomukh Tapovan Trip is among the most treasured journey trails of Uttarakhand. Grand mountains encompass the journey and trail goes through thick deodar woodlands, near the thundering Bhagirathi waterway. With the slim air at Gangotri, the headquarters, the journey makes for a striking and testing setting. Gangotri is notable as the stream that offers water to the heavenly waterway Ganga (with the real source being Gaumukh).

As per legend, Lord Bhagirath prayed to the incomparable Shiva for accomplishing salvation for his 60,000 children's spirits. Master Shiva obliged and mentioned the Goddess Ganga so she would deliver her water for the sanitization of the remains of Bhagirath's children. Because of this fanciful story, the waterway Ganga got the situation with being a source to filter spirits. The journey is at an elevation of 10,055 ft, and it takes around 10-12 hours through a drive to arrive at Gangotri from Haridwar.

It is a moderate to moving journey and the best an ideal opportunity to embrace it is throughout the late spring a very long time of May, June and through August to October.

Excellent Winter Trail:

Visited gangotri glacier as part of gangotri-gaumukh-tapovan trek through youth hostel trekking program. The view of Bhagirathi river (the ganges) originating from underneath the mouth of the gangotri glacier is awesome. The glacier is covered with mud and stones. So you can see ice only in some parts. Gangotri glacier is currently 26km long and 2nd largest glacier in himalayas after siachen. For going to tapovan we had to cross along the top ofthe glacier and then a uphill trek. Once in a lifetime opportunity to see the mighty glacier and be able to cross it.
