Overview

Have you ever visited a high-altitude lake in the Himalayas? If not, the holy Kedar Tal or Shiva’s Lake is the best lake to see in India’s Himalayan region. It is a glacial lake on the Gharwal Himalayas. Trekking towards this lake is with moderate level difficulties. It is advisable to come if you are fit, do not have high-altitude sickness, and withstand freezing temperature. However, the joys you get are awesome. You can see holy mountain peaks, which are 20,000-ft AMSL. Mountain trekking in the snow will be a different experience. The views of the Mighty Himalayas will make you spellbound. It is advisable to visit here under the Himalayan Adventure Tour Package. Kedar Tal coordinates are 30.91206°North and 78.95758°East. It is in Uttrakhand District, North India.

Devine peak Views    

Bhrigupanth Peak 22218-ft, Meru Peak 21890, and Thalay Sagar Peak 22,651 are considered holy as per Hindu mythology. These high-altitude Himalayan Mountain Peaks are still a challenge to professional climbers. These are un-accessed high-altitude mountain peaks in the Himalayas. It is due to its steep peal formation. However, they look majestic and divine from this lake. It will be like a snow wonder and heavenly when you lie down and see these peaks with flowing mountain mists on the background for blue sky.

Lakeside Camping 

You will never get such a lakeside camping experience once in the Himalayas. This lake and its surrounding peaks will sooth your eyes amidst the cool wind flowing throughout the day and night here. Stargazing during the night will be mind-blowing, as you will see a clear sky with twinkling stars. It will be amazing if you are present here on the full moon day. It is an amazing place to take photos and videos of this lake and mountain ranges. You can see the reflection of Thalay Sagar Peak in full length. Once you reach here, your mind will tempt to stay here. 

Short Itinerary

Day 1

Dehradun – Uttarkashi – Gangotri by road 245km  almost 10-hours

Day 2

 Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak via Trekking, 8 km

Day 3

Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak Trek, 5

Day 4

Kedar Kharak to Kedar Tal  and back kedar Kharak 11 km

Day 5

Kedar Tal to Gangotri 13 km by trek

Day 6

Gangotri to Uttarkashi 245km via road transportation

Full Itinerary

Day 1

Dehradun – Uttarkashi – Gangotri by road 245km almost 10-hours

You will be taken in a Jeep or a minivan to Uttarkashi. On the way, you will have a tea break and breakfast. On the way, you will see Their Dam and spend few minutes there. You will reach Uttarkashi by noon. Once again, you have to travel via road to reach Gangotri. It is advisable to visit Gangotri Temple and get the blessing from the Goddesses. If you have enough time, you can visit Surya Kund and Gangotri National Park. You will stay overnight at Gangotri in a hotel.

Day 2

 Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak via Trekking, 8 km

You will refresh in the morning and have breakfast. Next, your trekking journey starts from here. You have to cross the Bhagirathi River to reach the Bhoj Kharak trekking trail route. You will trek through the exotic Bhoj forest. From here, you can cite the Thalay Sagar Peak as a snowcap. You will find the mighty Kedar Ganga flowing on your trekking route in streams. In-between, you can halt and trek as it is rigid mountain terrain.

Day 3

Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak Trek, 5 km

On the 3rd day, you will get set start trekking to reach Kedar Kharak. On the way, you will have a glimpse of Manda peak and Bhrigupanth Peak. This trek will be with some difficulties, as you have to trek on the sides of uneven slopes. Now, you will be at 13,779-ft above the mean sea level. From here, you will have the best views of the snow-clad Himalayas in the Uttrakhand District of India. 

Day 4

Kedar Kharak to Kedar Tal and back kedar Kharak 11km

Your trekking destination is approaching, as you have to trek through Kedar glacier to reach the Kedar Tal. It will be a difficult trek for anyone who has not yet tried on snow. However, this place is snow-fed from June to March. This divine lake looks heavenly during the snow and non-snowy season. Here, you can relax on the lakeside and take photos and videos. The lake water is crystal clear and has many mineral values. It is advisable to drink this water by taking on your palm. If possible, do Surya Namaskar by chanting Om Namaha Shivaya and get blessings God Shiva’s Lake. The scenic feature of this mountain lake is steep peak mountains surrounds it. You will camp near the lakeside after enjoying the snow, the lake, and the mountains.    

Day 5

Kedar Tal to Gangotri 13km

Day five is your return journey from Kedar Lake trekking. You will return via trekking on the same route to reach Gangotri. Now, you can see the splendid beauty of High-altitude Himalayas, pine forests, and mid-altitude Himalayas with Himalayan birch forests. Trekking down is somewhat easy, and you can view many breath-taking peaks, waterfalls, glaciers, and streams of flowing water.

Day 6

Gangotri to Uttarkashi – Deharadun, 245km via road transportation

Now, you are stopping your Kedar Lake trekking trail and back to Dehradun via Uttarkashi District. As you see back, you will be descending towards lower altitudes. The Might Himalayas will look so gain and marvelous. We hope you will remember this trip and come back to see it in all four seasons.

Kedar Lake trekking is a guided trek on the Himalayas. The Himalayan adventure team will give proper instructions on safety, discipline, things to carry, and fitness activities to beat the cold. It is advisable to read some Kedar Lake trekking reviews online. You will come to know you can trek in high-altitude conditions. However, coming in a group will make it easy, as you will have support and company of them while in trekking. 

 

Price Inclusion

For the duration of your trek, you will be staying in hotels and camps from day one to departure day.

Meals: From the first supper to the departure day morning, all meals are included. We offer easy, nutritious vegetarian food on all days of the trek.

Transportation: We will provide round-trip transportation from pick up point and drop point.

Camping fees: Both trekking permits and woodland camping fees are included in the price.

All of the camps will provide you with high-quality tents and sleeping bags for your trek. We have high-altitude sleeping bags that can withstand temperatures as low as -10°C. Ropes, microspikes, and gaiters are all available.

 

Price Exclusion

Expenses for personal reasons: For instance, during the trek, personal bags must be transported.

> The cancellation policy is based on the original booking time and original start date of the trek.

> Before 30 days: 90% of the total Land Package Cost is refundable

> Between 21-30 days: 75% of the total Land Package Cost is refundable.

> Between 11-20 days: 50% of the total Land Package Cost is refundable.

> Less than 10 days: No refund.

 

Trek cancellation due to weather:

>  In case of an incomplete trek due to weather conditions, one can opt for the same trek again    throughout their lifetime on all our fixed departure for the same trek.
